It invades the land

It invades the land

It invades the land

From the vast western sea

And churns the red dust with such an intensity

That every crevice, crack and space in its path is penetrated

Nothing escapes its domination

Though times change it is always there

Sometimes its immense power is a curse

For it can bring an all-conquering destruction

When it joins its northern neighbour

And at other times it can offer relief from the insufferable heat that is the desert

Transforming this chaos to be part of our soul

For this is the conductor of life

That will invariably change the land scape

And all those upon it.
